Harps Notes 8th January 2018

posted 8 Jan 2018, 03:02 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto, now £3700, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 3, 19, 21 and 24. £20 each went to Pat McManus, Derrylin, John Lunny, Derrygonnelly and The Hall Family, c/o Kevin Dundas. The draw held on January 2nd saw numbers drawn 4, 6, 21 and 29. £20 each went to Eamon Kelly c/o Fergus, Richard and Siofra Atwood, Boho, and Angela Burke, Monea. We are in the Linnett Inn this Sunday night, with Gerald Greene and Anthony Murphy plus Mary Cox on the controls.

Our 2017 season finally ended in frosty conditions in Canon Maguire Park on Sunday night as our lads lost out to the Gaels on a scoreline of 3.7 to 0.9 in the final of the U21 competition. Thank you very much to our team management for getting the lads out for the games and keeping things together, for it was a tricky competition in that sense. Hard luck to our players as well. Good luck to the Gaels in the Ulster competition this weekend.

At the moment, our players, committee members, and a number of our promoters have our annual National Draw tickets on sale. The top prize is a Renault Dynamique and thereafter there are nineteen other fantastic prizes of a number of All Ireland Football and Hurling Final packages, shopping vouchers to the value of €1000, €500 and €250 and more. We are grateful for the support this fundraiser always gets, at a very useful time from a club finances point of view. Would all promoters please note that tickets are to be returned by Jan 27th at the latest.

We are also looking forward as a club to our Dinner Dance, due to take place on February 17th in The Killyhevlin Hotel. Music will be provided by the highly rated ‘Rhythm and Sticks’, with a 7pm start. Tickets are available from our usual promoters Brendy, Nicola, Gavin, Donal Corrigan, Gerald Greene, John McGovern, Francie Rasdale, Patricia Brennan, Big Sean, and Peter Jones.

Yoga with Jim Fawcett recommences tonight, Wed 10th Jan for 3 consecutive weeks.  It's 7-8pm for beginners and 8.15-9.15pm for Sports.  Please PM the Harps facebook page to book your place or call Eadaoin Love on 07799 148 196 if you don't have facebook. The cost is £10 for the 3 weeks, payable on the first night.

Finally, it was with sadness that all Harps members heard of the passing of Mrs Patsy Luce, in Nashville, USA recently and we express our condolences to the McGrail family on the passing of their mother and grandmother.
