Harps Notes 5th February 2018

posted 5 Feb 2018, 02:54 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £2100, was not won last week. The numbers were 7, 17, 28 and 30. £20 each went to Kathleen McCauley, Monea, Paddy McKenna, Shean Road, and Fidelma McCaffrey, Garrison. We are in the Cosy Bar on Sunday night, with Pat McGurn and Michael Glynn on duty with Mary.

There will be a club committee meeting this Thursday at 9pm in the clubrooms.

Well done to Eimear Smyth who was a very worthy recipient of the Cormac Trust Young Achiever of the Year at the Ulster GAA Writers awards on Friday night.

Our club's Youth AGM is now fixed for Sunday 11th February at 7:30pm. We now have an outline of what the competitions are going to be in 2018. This is obviously a very important date in our clubs diary as it allows us to come together and plan for the year ahead and look at things in terms of our youth structures. All interested people are more than welcome and don't be afraid to come down, we won't be lumbering people with jobs. The more shoulders we have to the wheel, the smoother things move forward!

Our first Underage outing of the year took place on Sunday as we fielded in the half time Go Games Exhibition match at Brewster Park. Thank you very much to the organisers on the day and to our coaches who directed and supervised our players on the day.

We are also looking forward as a club to our Dinner Dance, due to take place on February 17th in The Killyhevlin Hotel. Music will be provided by the highly rated ‘Rhythm and Sticks’, with a 7pm start. Tickets are available from our usual promoters Brendy, Nicola, Gavin, Donal Corrigan, Gerald Greene, John McGovern, Francie Rasdale, Patricia Brennan, Big Sean, and Peter Jones. Organisers are requesting that ticket orders etc go in this week if possible to start giving us an insight on numbers and layout at the venue.
