Harps Notes 4th June 2018

The club’s June committee meeting will be held this Thursday night at 9pm sharp in the clubrooms.

The Lotto results from the draw held on Monday June 4th will be in next week’s notes and available via our other outputs. We are in Doogie's this Sunday night, with Mary, Louise and Chairperson John on duty.

Our Minors had a good win against Irvinestown in their semi-final on Sunday morning. They are playing Enniskillen Gaels in their championship final, which takes place this Saturday evening at 8pm in Brewster Park. Our Under 15s also progressed in their championship against Lisnaskea last week and are up against Derrylin this Thursday night at 7.30 in Kinawley. Good luck to the two groups of players and their mentors.

Our seniors had a good win away against Erne Gaels last Friday night. They are down to play Devenish this Sunday at midday in Derrygonnelly. Our two Reserve teams are at home this Friday evening, to Tempo and Maguiresbridge respectively. They both lost out last weekend in good matches.

We have almost completed our vetting procedures for 2018, but a few people still have to complete their forms and paperwork. With that in mind, Anita will be in the clubrooms upstairs after the Devenish match, and anyone still to complete their forms can bring them and the three required identification documents to get the thing sorted on Sunday.

Finally, we are now looking forward to the Ulster Final on June 24th. Sunday was a fantastic day, one for supporters to treasure. Best wishes to the entire Fermanagh panel and management as they prepare for this game, with special mention, of course to our six lads who are involved with the panel at the moment, Mickey, Tiarnan, Eamon, Conall, Ryan and Garvan.

Interestingly, some Harps may remember young Ryan Elliott, who moved from Derrygonnelly back to London a number of years ago, a speedy corner forward. Ryan lined out for London in the first round of the Connacht SFC a few weeks ago, and will be hoping for action again this Sunday in the qualifiers against Louth. That makes Ryan the second Harps man to play for London after big Deccy Meehan a good few years ago as well.
