Harps Notes 30th September 2019

The Lotto jackpot, now £5400, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 7, 21, 23 and 26. £20 each went to The Keaney Children, Belcoo, Neil O'Brien, Belleek, and The Foy Grandchildren, Ely Lodge. We are in The Linnet Inn this Sunday night, with Mary, Gerald Greene and Anthony Murphy on Lotto duty.

Well done to our Seniors, who reached the Division One League Final with their win over Enniskillen Gaels on Sunday. They play Ederney St Josephs this Sunday in the final at 4pm in Brewster Park. We hope to see as strong a Harps support as ever out at what promises to be a very good contest.

Our Senior ladies lost out to Newtownbutler in what was a competitive final of the nine aside league on Sunday. Our team had a good share of possession and chances, and could have taken a result on another day. The two sides meet again this Sunday , this time in Newtownbutler at 11am in the 15 aside league. Our Minor girls  play their championship semi-final v Kinawley this Wednesday at 6.15pm in Derrygonnelly. The Under 13 girls travelled to Brookeborough to take part in a development blitz last Saturday. Thanks to Eadaoin, Jacqui and Garvan for their work with this group.

Our Under 13 boys exited the championship last Wednesday night against eventual winners Irvinestown. The boys worked ever so hard against the tide in the match, which typified the good attitude they have shown all year. They had a good season, and are a real group for the future. Thank you to Dom and Marty, plus Giles and Nigel for all of their work with the group.

Sunday Morning Footy finished up on Sunday, after another successful year of sessions at Canon Maguire Park. All that remains now are two blitzes, to be held soon for Under 8s and Under 11s. Sunday Footy remains one of our club's absolute cornerstones, and we are very grateful to all of the coaches who volunteer and come out to build the skills and sense of enjoyment that creates a positive future for the Harps.

Finally, it was with sadness that our club members and committee heard of the passing of Michael Carroll, a neighbour of ours at Canon Maguire Park last week. Sincere condolences to his family on their bereavement.
