Harps Notes 16th Sept 2019

posted 16 Sep 2019, 02:13 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £5000, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 12, 15, 16 & 18. £20 each then went to Eileen Waters, Derrygonnelly, Orla Broomhead, Lisnaskea, and Mary Cox, Newtown, Derrygonnelly. We are in Old Pals this Sunday night, with Gavin and John Murphy on duty with Mary.

Commiserations to Fermanagh Ladies on their defeat in the All Ireland final last Sunday. They have put in a tremendous year, and should be applauded for that. It was great to see such a hearty Harps contingent down to cheer the girls on, and it was still a very enjoyable day. Thanks very much to Frances and her team who took the group away on a great day. Our senior ladies are back in action this Sunday at 11am against Brookborough in a home league match. Canon Maguire Park is hosting the Ladies' championship finals this Saturday, so assistance with stewarding etc will be very much appreciated.

At underage level, we have our Under 13 lads out on Saturday morning in the championship against Lisnaskea. This match is at 11.00. Our Under 16 girls exited the championship against Kinawley on Wednesday last, putting in a very courageous effort against an impressive opponent. Thank you very much to the management team of Hugh, Martin, Claire and Jackie who looked after the girls all year.

Please note that the self defence course which had been scheduled for this week has had to be put back because of a clash with underage fixtures. The course will now run on September 24th and October 1st.

Finally, this Sunday sees our senior team in the Fermanagh SFC final against Roslea Shamrocks. The Harps supporters have always been a sixteenth man for the team, and we encourage as many people as possible, young and old, out in their colours to cheer the boys on in this match. Throw in is at 2.30pm in Brewster Park. Good luck lads!
