Harps Notes 16th April 2018

posted 16 Apr 2018, 06:31 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £3400, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 1, 8, 15 and 16. £20 each went to Pat Meehan, Monea, Barry Norton, c/o Fergus Kelly, and Deirdre Leonard, Monea. We are in the Cosy this Sunday night, with Pat McGurn, Michael Glynn and Mary on duty.

We had a busy weekend at Canon Maguire Park with a lot of underage football played on Saturday as four teams battled it out to make the Feile playoffs. We were still standing by Sunday, but lost out to eventual winners Kinawley. All the best to them as they represent Fermanagh in the national competition. Thank you to all Harps people who volunteered and helped out over the weekend, especially Eoghan Cassidy, who took on the venue co-ordinator role.

Sunday Football is continuing at 11.15 every week now. Thank you to all volunteers for helping out here, and remember to register and take up club membership via the Klubfunder online facility.

Our seniors had a good result away to Irvinestown on Sunday in a good competitive testing game. Our juniors were close but unsuccessful against Kinawley whilst our Junior B game was rescheduled. Our ladies had two wins last week, over Belcoo last Tuesday, and then in a cracking contest on Sunday, Tempo. Well done to them on a positive start to the year.

This weekend sees our seniors out on Friday and Sunday, against St Pats away, and Lisnaskea at home. Our juniors are also away to St Pats on Saturday night, while the Junior Bs are at home to Devenish.

It was with sadness that all Harps members heard of the passing of James Hoy, Monea last week. Genuine condolences are extended to Mr Hoy’s family and relatives, a number of whom are active Harps players and members.
