Harps Notes 15th January 2018

posted 15 Jan 2018, 04:35 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £3800, was not won on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 1, 4, 15 and 22. £20 each went to Ryan Cox, Boho, Assumpta Lunny, Enniskillen, and Eileen Little, Springfield. We are in Doogies this Thursday night. Mary Cox, Louise Dundas and John McGovern are on Lotto duty this Sunday night.

There will be a Harps committee meeting at 9pm on Thursday evening in the clubrooms.

What a great evening last Saturday evening was for another branch of our club, as our representatives took to the stage in Downpatrick for the Ulster Scor na nOg final. Congratulations in particular to Odhran Harbinson, who will be taking to the stage in the All Ireland final on February 17th as Ulster Scor na nOg Recitation champion. Our instrumental group of Bronadh Duffy, Derbhla Duffy, Naoise, Odhran and Oisin Harbinson gave their event a great shot too and can be proud to have done as well as they did. Thank you also to everyone who came along and supported our participants.

At the moment, our players, committee members, and a number of our promoters have our annual National Draw tickets on sale. The top prize is a Renault Dynamique and thereafter there are nineteen other fantastic prizes of a number of All Ireland Football and Hurling Final packages, shopping vouchers to the value of €1000, €500 and €250 and more. We are grateful for the support this fundraiser always gets, at a very useful time from a club finances point of view. Would all promoters please note that tickets are to be returned by Jan 27th at the latest.

We are also looking forward as a club to our Dinner Dance, due to take place on February 17th in The Killyhevlin Hotel. Music will be provided by the highly rated ‘Rhythm and Sticks’, with a 7pm start. Tickets are available from our usual promoters Brendy, Nicola, Gavin, Donal Corrigan, Gerald Greene, John McGovern, Francie Rasdale, Patricia Brennan, Big Sean, and Peter Jones.

Finally, it was with sadness that all Harps members heard of the passing of Mrs Mildred Ferguson, Enniskillen, over the weekend. Sincere condolences to the Ferguson family, especially Janice, Niall and their children on their loss.
