The Harps Lotto draw was held on Monday night. Details will be in next week's notes, and available via our online output.
Our Celebration Dinner Dance takes place this Saturday evening, with a 7pm kickoff. Please contact the following club members by this evening Wednesday February 14th to book a ticket: Sean Flanagan, Brendan Rasdale, Gerald Greene, Francis Rasdale, Peter Jones, Nicola Cassidy, John McGovern, Patricia Brennan, Gavin Duffy or Donal Corrigan. Please note, no Under 17s are to attend this event. We look forward to a very enjoyable evening, celebrating the successes in the club in 2017.
In the midst of all the excitement, we should not overlook to wish our own Odhran Harbinson every success in the All Ireland Scor na nOg final down in Sligo on Saturday, when he represents club and county in the Recitation category. Odhran is a great representative, and we wish him all the best.
The club held a really well attended Youth AGM on Sunday evening in the clubrooms. We reflected on a very good 2017 for our boys and girls, and we began to look towards 2018 and what we can do to develop our young players and provide a good sporting outlet for them. There was an undeniable sense of uncertainty and misgivings around arrangements for the year ahead, but the bottom line is that we are going to have to  do our best within whatever structures are put in place within the county. Our duty is to our young footballers. Congratulations to Eoghan Cassidy, who is assuming the role of Youth Chairperson in the club alongside our secretary Gavin Duffy. We have a very strong committee in place and our team managements are almost completed as well. More details to follow.
Our Under 15s will be holding their first session of the year on Thursday evening at 6.30pm, finishing at 7.45. Boys born from 2003 - 2006 are welcome to attend. Thank you to Garry Smyth, John Duffy and Dermot Burns, who will be looking after this group of lads this season.
The club is hosting a Foundation Coaching course on the weekend of February 23rd & 24th. As well as those who have volunteered to complete this course for the first time, it was urged that all existing coaches should attend the Safeguarding Education element of the course in the clubrooms on the Friday night. This is a very good opportunity for all those involved with teams to get a very important refresher on this key area.
