Harps News 3rd December 2018

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £10000 was not won last Sunday night. The numbers were 12, 14, 19 and 25. £20 each went to Niamh Collins, Lisnaskea, Bronagh Smyth, Derrygonnelly, and James Gormley, Belleek. We are in Doogies this Sunday night with Mary, Aidy McGovern and John Maguire on duty.

Our Minors lost out in the first round of the Ulster Club championship against Crossmaglen on Sunday evening. The final score was 1-12 to 0-6. The team competed very strongly for periods of the game, and had themselves in a reasonable position at half time. The key score for Cross was a goal in the first minute after the restart, after which they were able to see the game out to a win for them. Thank you very much to our management, who have worked very hard with the team to prepare fully for this match. Thank you also to our supporters who travelled on such a hardy day. All that remains now is our Under 21 players’ involvement in the competition with a semi final against Young Maguires down for this weekend.

We still have a lot to look forward to as we have our Youth Presentation event this Sunday evening at 6.30pm in the clubrooms. We hope that as many of our underage players, boys and girls will come along and we will be presenting county medals to amongst others our Under 14 girls, Under 12 boys, our Under 17 boys, plus both sets of Minor title winners. We will have a special guest in attendance, and light refreshments will be served also. All children, of whatever age, who play for the Harps, are welcome to attend.

Please remember also, our Double Championship Celebration Dinner Dance which takes place on January 12th in The Killyhevlin Hotel Enniskillen. We have two adult championship trophies to celebrate this year, and great success by both our ladies and men’s teams to look back on. Music will be supplied by Cufflinks, and tickets will be available from the usual committee members and outlets. We have had a number of brilliant events at our last few celebration nights, and this one will no doubt surpass them, so put the date in your diaries!!
