Harps News 2nd October 2017

We can only start with our great day at Brewster Park on Sunday. We have been fortunate enough to experience a number of milestone days for the club in recent years, but our Championship Double was as sweet as anything that has gone before. Congratulations to two super groups of players, plus their managements and backup teams on winning their county titles. Both teams carried the favourites tag into their finals, but managed to justify that in style. Thank you to all of our supporters, who turned out in great numbers to cheer on our teams. It would be remiss not to acknowledge the travelling support for our Under 16 semi final replay up in Bawnboy last Thursday night as well. They saw a stirring conclusion to that particular matchup against Kinawley. In sport, commiserations to the Teemore lads and also to Devenish on their losses.

The focus for both teams returns to league fixtures this weekend, with our seniors up against St Joseph's in the league semi final, and our Under 16s also with games to complete their programme. Good luck in those matches. Fuller details on venues etc will be available via our online output.

We return to Clones this Sunday to support Fermanagh Ladies in their All Ireland final replay at 1.30pm. Good luck to the whole panel as they get another go at it.

Our Under 12s play Teemore at home this Friday evening at 6.45pm in what will probably be the final game of the campaign for them. They lost out to Lisnaskea last week, playing with their usual levels of endeavour and skill, but against a stronger opponent, fair enough. They have still played a lot of very tasty football this year.

Thank you very much to everyone who was involved in the organisation of the reception for our teams on Sunday night both on the Main Street and up at the clubrooms. Thank you also to those coaches who organised the Harps players for the Half Time Go Games. Thank you finally to those supporters who put the Harps signs up along the road last week. There are some very witty people about!

Our Lotto was held on Monday night this week, so results will be online. We are in Doogies Bar this Sunday night with Donal Corrigan, Gerald Maguire and Mary Cox on the controls.
